OURTREATMENTS

WHAT CAN WE DO?

We want our patients to understand dentistry. We have prepared these dental pages for them to learn more about this fascinating art ‘n’ science. The more they know, the better the decisions they can make about what they want out of dentistry and the better we can help them have a life time of smiles and happiness. We believe in “full care” dentistry. This means that we will recommend whatever is needed to bring them to an optimum state of oral health and to prevent any future problems. This type of dental care is the same as what we would recommend if they were members of our immediate family. We offer complete preventive, restorative and cosmetic services including implants, bonding, tooth whitening, tooth-coloured fillings, sealants as well as periodontal(gum) & endodontic (root canal) therapies. Our specialist doctors are skilled in providing orthodontic(correction of crooked teeth) and all types of maxillo-facial and oral surgery. In this office, we attempt to render a health service. We do not sell gold, silver or teeth, and when we quote a fee, it is not for the materials we use but for the service we render.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Your Smile: The goal of cosmetic dentistry is to turn an average smile into a terrific one. We can create a beautiful smile by solving each specific problem one after the other. So even if you weren’t born with a beautiful smile, you can still have one.

PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

And early detection are the key to avoid costly and painful dental treatment. Prevention begins with the control of plaque and calculus, the main cause of decay and gum disease. Please see our sections on Dental Decay , Brushing , Flossing and Toothpastes.

SEALANTS

Highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth, sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic “coating” is painted onto the surface of the tooth. Dental sealants are usually placed on the chewing surfaces of these teeth .

ORTHODONTICS

If your child has lost most of their baby teeth, we recommend that they meet with us for an orthodontic consultation. We use the most current orthodontia methods in our office. Most patients wear braces for only one to two years.

GUM TREATMENT

While seldom painful and frequently free of any obvious signs or symptoms, periodontal disease can progress, undetected, to the point where supporting bone is destroyed. An integral part of maintaining your teeth for life is the removal of plaque and tartar on a regular basis .

EXTACTIONS / ORAL SURGERY

The goal of modern dentistry is to prevent tooth loss. When a tooth cannot be saved, extraction (removal) of the tooth may be the only course of treatment. Most minor surgeries are performed at our facility.

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

Restoring Damaged Teeth: Unfortunately, teeth damaged by decay or injury will not heal like most other tissues in the body. They require an artificial material to replace and restore the damaged tooth structure. Please see our sections on Silver Fillings and Composite Fillings .

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

If a tooth’s pulp (nerve and blood supply) becomes infected or inflamed, root canal treatment may be the only way to save the tooth, short of removing it. Root canal treatment consists of removing the nerve as well as infected tissues that lie within the root/s of the tooth.

CROWNS / BRIDGES

A “cap”, “jacket” or “crown” will restore a broken, heavily filled or cracked tooth to its original size and shape. This may also be recommended after root canal therapy has been completed as the tooth tends to become brittle and is more apt to fracture.

DENTURES

Many people believe that once they have dentures, they no longer need regular dental care. Denture wearers require regular exams to ensure their health, comfort and appearance. Gum tissues are in a constant state of change.

IMPLANTS

A remarkable procedure, implants can replace any or all of your teeth. The implant becomes integrated with the bone and acts like a “bolt” which will ultimately support a new tooth. The advantages of implants for patients with dentures are: denture stability, increased patient comfort and confidence.
